Batley and Spen Astronomical Society

Last night I had a very pleasant telephone call from a member of the Batley and Spenborough Astronomical Society. He'd got my number from ABS where I've been selling a few bits.

He's been having a push at gaining members as, in his words "The current members keep dyin' and we're not getting any new ones" (I love Yorkshire).

So... I'm off down at about 8pm tomorrow (Thursday), mainly to have a good look at their 14" newt. If anybody else fancies coming along I'm sure you'd be very welcome, it sounds like they'd love to have a few others pop in and say hello.

I have just emailed Batley and Spen Astronomical Society earlier this evening, before I found this forum..... I am hoping that I hear something back before Thursday... I would love to visit them

Used to visit 30 years ago when I lived in Heckmondwike, it's a great observatory - as Matt says you access it by parking at the top of Batley Park in the Museum car park.
