358 byte autosaves from DSS?

I'm having issues with DSS again, I load all my subs, lights, darks, flats what have you and DSS does it's thing but it returns an autosave of 358 bytes and throws up a screen of vertical lines whatever I seem to do, anyone have a solution for this?

I am using version 3.3.4

have you checked the subs to make sure they are not corrupt

_{how do I do that old pink? how do I know if they are any good?...the individual subs are 17 Mbyte each and show lots of detail in my RAW editor, they just won't stack or register.}

check the pictures once you load them into DSS
highlight the image and see what data is there also try a star count

When I have loaded my subs, I find when I look at the list that the lights are all together but the darks and flats are intermingled, is this important and if so how do I re arrange the subs in the list?

ok iam watching as DSS does it's job and what I am seeing is that the frames are failing to register, it skips that and goes straight to stacking?

you need to tell it to "register already registered pictures" or delete all the txt files in the folder

I always cancel that option thinking it will register all the files in the list as new.....ok let me go try it.

ok so now I have a screen full of stars, I don't understand the process and why that was so important but I am delighted, thank you so much Old Pink

^{in trouble again, I save the image to the hard drive via save picture to file and end up with a file size of 769 bytes and no stars, just a black background?}
