June 11, 2014: Morning tea in H-alpha

Recommended Posts

Just had a quick view. Very little in the way of prominences (one small one on the eastern limb). The Surface is rather spectacular, at the moment, so no worries. The western part of the disk is riddled with sunspots and filaments, which magnificent bright plage patterns. The eastern limb shows a very nice active AR southwards (this has produced several flares already). This shows a single sunspot in H-alpha and intricate bright patterns surrounding it. One small, but conspicuous bright "ball" is visible just east of the sunspot. Looks almost ripe for an eruption. Northwards another AR has just appeared this side of the limb.

Hope to have another look at lunchtime.
