Older Celestron binocs

I just bought a pair of MIJ Celestron 12x80s.  They are fully multi coated and from the pictures on ebay, they appear to be of a much higher quality than the ones being currently offered.

Does anyone have any information about them?  I am thinking that they date to 1995 or so.  I paid $175 for them.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.  I intend to use them for star gazing primarily from a tripod.

I have seen these before (very long time ago). They are certainly quite a bit better than the 15x70 BA-1 offerings currently available from what I heard. That price seems very reasonable (I wouldn't fret if somebody else paid less, only you can decide what you think the views are worth ).
