C8 Mars & saturn

I put the scope out at 6 and collomated. Went out for a meal, back at 11.30 and straight out! The scope had ice on it and the dust cap looked white!!!. Recollimated and started the obs session... Boy it was cold, Mars was good but not great.. Same applied for saturn tbh. I could not manage cassini.. I had a few vibration issues as the tripod was on full extension and sitting on the patio rather than the grass. A nice 95% sharp view though all the same planet banding was viewable!!. Called it a night at 1.30!

I agree. The conditions were difficult, moon glow and icy air!!.... I know we crave these sort of conditions, but it can go against you!
