I just realised the civil twilight I get between end of May and middle of July is darker than the winter skies in the light pollution hell I used to live.

No more astronomy summer break.

Yes, but you had longer periods of light polluted hell.

There is so little time available for viewing during mid-year that you are talking of about 3 hours of not really dark skies.

In November I can get darker skies, 3 hours and be home by 10:00pm.

I don't mind the shorter nights that much. They are short but wide. In the other hand I was put off by LP so many nights in Light Polluted Hell.

Yep. Can't wait for winter to come round again. I just can't get enough of those long dark nights.
