Beehive Cluster and M67

Recommended Posts

Here's a quick go at the Beehive Cluster and M67 from last night. Modded 100D, 50mm f1.8 lens on a Vixen GP2 and 20 second subs, with about 6 minutes of data in total plus 20 darks and dark bias. No flats.

Since I was imaging a star cluster I stopped the lens down to f2.8, and it's cropped to get rid of the worst of the coma. Really pleased with this one. The Beehive needs a little tweak where a few bright stars are running into each other and it could do with a bit more trimming. Here's M67 in actual size:

Flats are the next step, but I might have a go at Jupiter tonight instead.
