Celestron CGEM DX

I have the CGEM DX mount for my C11 Edge HD on the heavy duty field tripod.

I want to mount the telescope in a permanent observatory.

Does anybody know if there is a pillar available which the DX equatorial head can be mounted on. The tripod is fine for general observing but for astro photography might not be the best choice.

I am also giving serious consideration to just keeping the whole mount as the portable solution & putting in an EQ8 or the CGEM Pro- any views on going in the direction of this much more expensive option. I like the look look of the EQ8 but the CGEM pro would allow me to continue using my useful Celestron accessories like the StarSense & GPS sensor.
