Are there any sky apps where you don't need to align the sky with what u see on the screen like the iOS apps I got ( sky guide and star walk?)

Well you can turn off auto trackng so that you can put your hand on the screen and move the heavens around will nilly, Stellarium, SkySafari etc do this.

I use the GoSkyWatch app on my Ipad 2 and my Iphone 4. It has proven to be very accurate as far as I can tell. I use it to help me locate what I want to see as well as verify what I am seeing . I am getting pretty good at spotting mars with the naked eye so far.... as well as the orion constellation and canis major constellation.
