How to attach orion skyglow 2" filter to prime focus Canon Adapter

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a 2" filter thinking it would screw onto my current setup which is the 203mm orion newt tube with 2" crayford focuser.  It came with a camera adapter which hooked up to my canon prime focus adapter kit I bought.  However I cannot for the life of me find out where to screw this into.  It came with a used focal reducer that the filters will screw onto but neither of those will screw onto my adapter.  I cannot use the t-ring and the 1.25" setup as I cannot get it into focus with the newt,  so the adapter is the only thing I can use.  Any clues?  Thanks in advance.  I can post pictures later of what I am working with if it will help.

Your 2" filter should screw onto threads at the focuser end of the camera adaptor. So you end up with Camera -> T-ring -> 2" T-thread adaptor -> 2" filter -> Focuser.

So I have finally tried screwing the filter into anything that came with my T-ring adapter and the threads must not be the same, they seem very close as it looks like it should fit, I have even tried reverse threading it.  No such luck yet.
