Stacking Question (DSS)

Hey,

If you have multiple sets of subs, ie. 20x20s, 20x30s, and 20x60s.. So you stack all 60 images at one in DSS? Or do I do 3 sets, stack the 20s as one, 30s as one, and the 60s as one, then combine in PS?

Only stack the same exposure time and iso sets in DSS. You stack the different exposures in another program. I have never had good results using DSS that way.Maybe others can enlighten.

In DSS at the bottom of the screen there are tabs for different exposure sets, the Main Group being the first and then Group1 for the next set ect.

Personally I just stack differing exposures separately and then combine in PS.

The different groups at the bottom of DSS are for shots from different days with same length and exposure.

Stack the different exposures separately and combine them as layers with layer masks in photoshop.

Don't forget to use different darks for the differing exposure lengths!! The flats only need retaking if u imaged on a different day! Bias will be the same for all.
