New bino's.... Tripod?

Recommended Posts

Just purchased some bino`s for extra portability and let the kids get into this hobby

(BARR and Stroud Savannah 12x 56)

Any body recommend a tripod I can purchase for fixing these to. The young lad suffers from nystagmus is only 5yrs old and finds a single eyepiece on the scope very difficult so adjustable height tripod as well would be a good advantage. Im willing to buy a fixed height one as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might get a few more replies in the Binos section as that seems to be where they all look.

A good sturdy one would be good, but what might be better if the central column raises and lowers, these are usually on a small wind up handle so where fine adjustments need to be made it would be easier than trying to raise / lower the legs.

Hi, the 12x56s have a bit of weight to them (over 1Kg I think) so something fairly sturdy  would be useful. The Horizon 8115 is often recommended as a good tripod/head combo.

I have this one:

It supports my 1.5Kg binos easily and is sturdy and well mase. When I bought it came with a trigger grip ball head mount which is excellent. The ball head it comes with now should be quite useable though.
