Skywatcher synscan handset

Hi

I am about to purchase a HEQ5 syntrek mount as I already have a synscan handset.

I have the handset from a previous scope however it is set for an alt-as scope and I need to download the firmware for EQ. It is a version 3 handset and is compatible. I just need some advice on which firmware to use? Do I download EQ5 firmware straight off or is there something else I need to do?

The latest version 3.35 http://ca.skywatcher.com/_english/05_service/01_download.php works with both types of mount. You will also need the firmware uploader and a cat5 network cable to connect the handset to the mount.

And the Cat5e lead needs to be a "patch" lead as opposed to the "crossover" type ...
