EQMOD / Astro tortilla not connecting

Hi there guys, i'm close to finishing my permanent setup and i have been trying to get EQMOD to work with my eq5 along side astro tortilla and i am now at my whits end with them. I can have perfect control via stellarium but will not for the life of my connect to my mount via eqmod. I have set it to COM16 and yet still says not found. Having very similar problems connecting my camera to the astro tortilla camera function as i use the eos control that comes from canon.

Can anyone help me with these issues please ?
