Forecast to cloud over here later, I can see Jupiter & The Plough but not much else.

I have finally talked a friend of mine into having a wildlife pond instead of a Koi fish pond.  He just didn't realise how much wildlife you can get in a modest size pond.  Mine is 2.5 x 1.5 metres & approx 80cm at the deepest point.  It has a shallow & a deep end similar to a swimming pool.  I still have water lilies in there  and only the plants the wildlife need besides that.

The newts are back, need warmer weather & sun for them to become more active.  Unlike a fish pond the critters in a wildlife pond don't need feeding, nature sorts that out.  My main job is clearing back the weed at the end of December so that the sun can warm up the water in spring.  The rest of the year we just enjoy it.
