I obtained a couple of pieces of 2.5mm and 3mm diam solid core end emitting fibre optic cable.

Had an ST80 in the dining room (while SWMBO was at work!) just pointing out the window with the different cables just pushed into the SMA fitting at the eyepiece end.

Its looking like the 3mm solid core might be worth trying for spectroscopy with the scope, it also should make it easier to get a star on a 3mm diam solid core instead of the miniscule fibre thats inside the SMA fitting. I have polished the ends up to 1200 grit, I have some 4000 grit somewhere which should be better.
