C11 electric focuser

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any experience of one of these:

Do they allow the focus to be adjusted sufficiently gentle enough for planetary imaging, or would it be better to motorise an SCT rack-pinion / crayford style focuser attached to the visual back?

Thanks for any replies.

James

Hi

I have the Skywatcher Crayford on my 925 CPC and I bought a JMI focuser for it, I think I bought it from Rother Valley Optics. Works really well and bolts straight on but it was £150!

I think its fairly easy to fit the standard Skywatcher focuser (called autofocuser I think) to the Skywatcher Crayfords, I think someone has done a YouTube video on the way to do it. This costs £50. It may fit on your Crayford as they all tend to be fairly similar.

Thanks

Stuart.
