Picture Display Size v Actual Size

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have an image in tiff format thats 2145 x 12428 pixels at a resolution of 100 pixels per inch

In PS on the screen its displaying at 37% and looks quite reasonable, if I display that actual size its horrible

So I assume I resize until it looks ok by trial and error or is there a more scientific method ?

Regards

I would guess that at that a resolution at 100% in PS if you were to print it you wouldn't have a printer or paper big enough to get it all on. So you have to allow for the fact that at 100% it is a BIG image which would normally be viewed from a considerably distance, at which it would appear OK again. Why resize it anyway, justt view the tiff as it is (unless you wish to make it smaller that is).
