Here is a non-destructive way to attach a webcam to a 9x50 finderscope, using a 3D-printer to make the adapter.

You can see the 3D model at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:222480, and download it if you like.

This is the actual thing. It is attached to the scope using elastic bands, and the webcam is a nice friction fit.

And many thanks to dby for doing the printing for me. A 3D printer is on my list of things to get hold of, but I don't think I could sneak it into the house just at the moment without being detected.

It won't be long before you will download plans for your new scope and print the whole thing out :)   I don't think I'll be investing in a 3D printer just yet but the tech is developing in leaps and bounds. Definitely the way forward.

No starting small for experience then?  :p

Maybe not an EQ8 clone but a camera only EQ mount nice and lightweight would be 1st on my list along with DSLR long lens supports and fine adjustment focus rings for camera lenses gotta be better than a coffe mug.
