Imaging, 2 inch over 1.25 inch advice needed...

I am in the process of purchasing an adaptor for my 350 d camera. An appropriate tube to attach it to and a barlow lens and filter for lunar imaging. I thought I would get 2 inch because the thought of my camera  hanging on a 1.25 inch assortment of tubes did not seem safe to me. Can anyone assure me that 1.25 is ok as I am having great difficulty finding 2 inch barlows in the 3 times power range but there is plenty at 1.25 inch ones in lots of different powers. Has anyone got a schematic of what I might use from camera to focuser as I think this would really help me now
