Lenses For Astromaster 130EQ

Recommended Posts

Hi, my son has lent me his Celestron Astromaster 130EQ. He forgot the lenses and has gone off to America. He only has the standard lenses, which I think are 10 and 20mm. I'd like to buy a lens so I can use the scope until we can get hold of the original lenses. What size would you recommend and what make?

Thanks

This would suggest 8, 18, and 25 mm EPs, and a good 2x Barlow. Get the 25mm first, you'll be glad of it when it comes to finding stuff.

As for brands and models, I've heard good things about GSO, Celestron Omni, and Vixen NPL Plossls, should be £25-35 a piece. Skywatcher SP Plossls are a bit cheaper but I don't know what they're like. Chances are even they will be a step up from the originals though!
