Got this slightly confused as they have other software called Losing the Dark. Apologies for confusion.

The International Dark Skies Association have released an app to enable global research into light pollution. It's called Losing the Night and looks to be based on guiding you to certain stars to check whether you can see them. That's then fed back with your location. You're encouraged to submit from different locations and at different times.
