First few Afocal Moon Images with an iPhone

Hi All,

First few photos taken with a hand held iPhone held up to the eyepiece. This astrophotography lark is addictive, and I can forsee me upgrading my kit fairly soon - best keep that one from the missus for now....

Great shots

Why not first get the holder that fits over the eyepeice that will hold your phone. Or the one that holds a small digi camera and take a movie and stack it, next try a webcam.

Thanks Happy-kat, I'm upgrading my phone this month, so I didn't want to fork out twice for a mobile mount, but I probably will invest. I'm looking at webcams at the minute as I've only just bought a laptop. I'll share the pics and any such stuff as and when!!

I bought a pair of cheap xbox webcams for something like £4 for both on ebay in the spring.

There is a great xbox thread on here.

On the laptop I have installed unbuntu as I gather the linux capture programs can be a bit better and anyway the laptop is old and gives it a enw lease of speed life.
