which barlows to buy?

Hi guys.

I currently have a celestron nexstar 127 slt with the basic 9 & 25mm ep's. but i have added vixen nlp's 15 & 30mm ep's onto my xmas list and was wondering which barlows would compliment this current/potential set up come the new year?

Hiya,

I believe your scope has a FL of 1500mm so using a 2x Barlow with a 15mm eyepiece will give around 200X magnification this is about the limit for the UK viewing, you don't really want to be exceeding 250X with your scope.

Keep in mind also a 30mm eyepiece used in line with a Barlow will give the same magnification as the 15mm, so try not to double up on sizes.

IE 20mm becomes 10mm  - 14mm becomes 7mm etc....

Try to  get the best you can afford, around £40 new should be pretty good
