Atik Titan cooler when guiding

hi,

might be a very silly question but i bought a new Atik Titan ccd camera which sometimes i use as a guide camera to guide my Canon 1100d, my question is when i use th Atik Titan as a guide camera do i still need to use it with the cooler on ? will it make any differance ?

Shouldn't make too much difference, the guide image you get might be a bit noisey but it will still work. My QHY5 aint cooled, the pic is a bit noisey but no probs.

I think you'd have to try it. If you have bright stars then probably not, but if all the guide stars are faint the cooling might help a lot.

The Titan will work without the 12V connected - it takes the camera power from the USB connection. The fan and cooling is driven from the 12V.
