Blank avi with Qhy5v

Last night whilst testing out the new laptop I was imaging the moon using my qhy5v and qgvideo32 but when I came to stack them the avi files had 0bytes of info and no app child open them.

I'm using windows 8 and the drivers have just been downloaded fresh from the relevant sites.

Has anybody else comes up across this?
