Old optics... worth the hassle?

I've had this mirror set sat in a box in my mothers attic for the best part of 25 years made by some guy in Lincoln . Have been pondering making a dob out of it but not really sure if it's worth the effort as I know very little about the optical quality of the mirror. As can be seen, it's made from what looks like plate glass and seems to have been chiselled into a disk lol. There's a small chip on the edge that appeared mysteriously when the attic was 'rearranged'. Obviously it needs recoating but I'll cross that bridge if the mirror is woth using. Just wondering if there are any members in South Manchester/North Cheshire with facilities to test the mirror to see if it's worth mounting. It's 14" seems a bit thin for the diameter, and allegedly 1/4 wave. I phoned Orion Optics who said they could test it but to be honest, I'd rather not fork out that kind of money on a possible dud. Any comments would be greatly appreciated
