Hello SGL,

Can the Vixen GP2 mount handle an Equinox 120ED? Purely visual.

Quoted payload for the GP2 is 7kg, and an equinox is about 6.5kg, but with rings, diagonal, eyepiece, finder etc it will probably be more than 8kg.

Would an EQ5 (quoted payload of 9kg) be a better bet?

The Vixen mount should handle the 120, it is of better build quality than the EQ5.
