older version of the EQ6

I have found a 2nd hand EQ6 mount - however im wondering if it is a slightly older model?

The colour of the mount is black where as websites selling new ones show this is now white.

The mount does have a motor with simple tracking handset - however it is not a GOTO handset.

Would I be able to buy just the GOTO handset and it would work? or are there more questions I should be asking on this one?

This version of the mount was not GoTo compatible as the motor control board was quite basic. I have one and converted it to full GoTo but this required a full upgrade kit. Once upgraded, the mount was fantastic but this may not be the most economical route for you for a second hand GoTo EQ6.

To convert the mount to goto you will need the full upgrade kit. The upgrade includes new motors (required for the upgrade), new motor control board and Synscan handset.
