Nexstar + question

Hi,

I wonder if some of you Celestron afcionados could help me. I can't help but think there's a bit missing from my newly acquired Nexstar + handset. Should there be another connector at the bottom with a standard RS232 connector?

There was a cable supplied with my nexstar when I purchased it.

DB9 to RS232 cable that is, I ended up buying a serial to USB converter from Maplins as my PC didnt have a serial port connection.
