Problems with QHY8L image processing.

Having a bit of a problem getting my QHY8L Colour CCD to produce and save colour Tifs.

Here the problem. Using EZCAP the supplied capture software after selecting Camera and clicking on Preview Live view I get a picture in Mono.

If I close Preview and open Capture and take an exposer I get a colour picture which will save to Directory if I right clip on the Main screen and select Jpeg. that's OK if I am just taking one exposer.

If I then go to the Planner section and setup a series of exposers the Picture in the Main screen goes to Mono and is saved in Mono.

Opening the files in GIMP shows all the exposers in Mono.

I have also used the trial version of Nebulosity and when I open the Preview window in that all I get is a Mono FITS.

Just been taking pictures of the local hills with the Gain set to Zero and Setoff at 120.

The output data from your QHY8L is indeed mono and the data needs to be de-Bayered to produce a colour image. Nebulosity can do this for you but calls the process 'de-mosaicing'.

Thanks Steve. did debayer and got some colour. Not the ones I expected but dare say it needs practise
