Cleaning Filters

I have a Castell UHC and a OIII. They are looking a little bit dirty. Can they be cleaned without damaging them?

I should think Baader Optical Wonder fluid would work! I have not used it myself, but I am going to order the kit as my OTA objectives, eyepieces & filters are a little dirty too.

I used to use Calotherm Liquid years ago for cleaning camera lenses, filters & other OTA's that I previously owned without problems.

Astrodon filters recommend isopropyl alcohol and lint free cloths, i have cleaned my filters with this and it worked fine for their type filters

Shame you don't have the Baader ones, they're heavily hardened to withstand rough-ish cleaning.

The little round felt pad on a lens pen works wonders on eyepieces, should imagine it'd be fine on filters aswell. Can be had for less than a tenner on amazon. Got mine free with a photography magazine!

I have the same problem, I just got UHC -E filter from Optolong China, I observed with it and it was dark for my 6" scope. It got some dust so i wiped its back surface with with a soft cloth very smoothly and some of it's surface coating just wiped out !! I couldn't believe. Doest it happenes with other filters also. please comment I am attaching the pic also.

It was dark in your 6" scope because it was almost opaque with dirt.

Philip's cleaning recommendation is apropos.
