Galactic Ripples

As usual the clutter on 'desk-top' was getting out of hand so I did a quick clean up. I was about bin my re-work of AndyH's M31 when it struck me that the dust rings,in close-up, looked like ripples of surf on a moonlit beach. Anybody else notice that or am I the..........
