Yep that sounds ok dont forget Polar aligning is all manual nothing to do with the electronics or handset and you use the RA and Dec screws to move and lock Polaris in its clock position not forgetting to check the mount is level at the same time. You could download one of the programs that tells you what time position Polaris is in then you dont even need to use the clock position on the handset just skip it and go straight to the star alignment.

I generally use the one star alignment but pick your reference star or stars before you go out this saves time.

It is a hard subject to put in writing but hopefully making sense :smiley:

Thanks! It has made sense because before I posted I didn't have a clue at all and based on what you have posted I've basically got it right, just need to remember the little bits such as check how level etc :) thanks very much!
