July 2. 2013 (8:45): Early morning sun in H-alpha

Recommended Posts

After yesterday's fireworks, the sun looks more sedate this morning. There are three small proms showing where the big event took place yesterday, and the bulge I spotted has resolved itself into a massive sunspot surrounded by lots of bright areas and a dark filament to its north. Several other filaments can be seen across the disk, along with several bright areas. One fairly large prom is visible southwards, and a few smaller ones show on the western limb. Not quite yesterday's spectacle, but still a lot to be seen.

Hopefully I can follow the progress of various features through lunch and tea breaks
