June 23, 2013: Some nice proms between showers

Recommended Posts

I manage to have a very quick peek at the sun in H-alpha before lunch. I had to set up very quickly, aim and had about 3 minutes to observe. The view in the 24 mm was crisp, and showed a complex set of proms on the western limb. One complex looked almost like a row of trees bent by the wind. The surface was riddled with light and dark structures around the ARs. In the 10mm the view was better, but it was soon cut short by clouds. I took the scope back inside, and two minutes later it started to rain.
