June 11, 2013: Massive filament across the disk at teatime

Recommended Posts

We had a solar tea break, and were rewarded with some modest prominences, and a MASSIVE filament crossing the disk southwards of the centre. I estimate it at just above 1/3 of the diameter of the disk, so about 500,000 km. Now that's a proper filament. surprising to see such activity in H-alpha when white light is so quiet
