Recommended Posts

Hello all

i am using a qhy8l using neb v3.1

i am struggling to find the correct settings

i am looking to setup a bias and have been told to set the histogram between 100 - 1000 (-20 temp )

close I got to was offset 111 gain at 8 I think

when I tried my flats ( point at sky t-shirt over it ) I couldn't get the histogram to reduce from 6545.

The lowest was 0 all the titime any advice

Hi It is my understanding that bias frames should be taken using the shortest possible exposure your camera supports at the same temperature as your lights as it is to eliminate the signal that is generated to the sensor when it is just charging up ready to use.Flat frames are more difficult but you should be aiming for a mean of approx. 18000 to 25000 fits liberator is useful for this.T-shirt method is maybe best taken at dusk when its not to bright.Hope this helps

Thanks I have just brought a EL panel and some opal aryclic sheets. Hopefully that should something

What order should I take my subs in.

P.s in the train I am using a cls fliter. Should that be close to the camera or the telescope side ( near the focuser )

The cls filter would normaly screw onto the end of the adapter that you attach to the camera. When you take flats they should be taken with the focal train the same as it was for your subs don't adjust the cameara orientation or focus.Sorry I do not understand what you mean about order of subs
