Comet Stacking in Photoshop?

I'm having real trouble stacking my comet in comet mode in DSS. I'm getting a lot of noise. Is there any way to do the same in PS?

For my feeble effort earlier this year I just stacked the DSLR subs in Registax using a small align-box centred on the Comets head much the same as I do on a Sunspot for my Solar stuff.

The result was fine , it showed the comet static with the background stars trailing , hard to say about noise as these were twilight shots but the more frames the better to reduce noise.

You'll be best converting the subs to TIFFs first though , Reg 5 takes RAWs but takes an age to process , Reg 6 doesn't take RAWs and can be a little temperamental so I'd try 5 first.

Thanks Steve. A good idea but I want the stars static. I don't know what I'm doing wrong with DSS.

Thanks Steve. I've gone through the technical help for the comet stacking. It does the job but the noise is awful. (Ignore cloud.)

Had another go at processing with PS but there's still that darned noise!
