Visions of the Universe exhibition in Greenwich

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Anyone in or around London over the following few months and interested in our wonderful hobby (and/or pretty pictures) should check out the Visions of the Universe exhibition at the National Maritime Museum. It features some amazing images, both professional and amateur (including at least one by an SGL member ), and the giant panoramas of Mars are worth the ticket price alone.

Bump this - we went along last weekend and it was fabulous, so I wanted to recommend it. Accessible to novices, interesting for those of us who're already astronomically-minded. Some amazing photography, inspiring and inspired; really loved the set of pictures of the transit of Venus. How long do we have to wait for another one? 2116 isnt it?! Some really nice historical pieces too - early astrophotography and sketches from primitve telescopes and the like. Plus at £8 a ticket (including Gift Aid) it's a steal! Oh, and it's air conditioned in there. Lurvely...

I'd go again but we want to see Lowry at the Tate...
