A Couple of captures form a novice, M51, M101

Hi to all,

Here is a couple of DSOs that I did a few nights ago, nothing to write home about but anyway they are here.

The full frame M101 has quite a few of its companion fuzzies, but i am not sure they could be seen in the small jpeg. Minimal processing on both galaxies.

Thanks for your kind word, the M101 is particularly weak, I think it is 14 subs of 300s at iso 800, If this weather permits I need to add at least another hour to both, I also have a problem with the flats and the darks. Early days for me so need to learn to be patient. I am beginning to think that with this modded Canon 1000d I need about 4 hours of data to have a reasonable S/N capture, the camera is very noisy at anything over iso 400.
