Weight limit on Barn Door mount?

Hello All!

I was just wondering how much weight could be held a sturdy barn door mount?

For example, do you all think a barn door mount could reasonably hold a 3 lbs 80mm refractor with

a dslr attached for astrophotography. I would of course have to build it well, but I was just wondering

if this idea is even plausible.

Theoretically you could use a real barn door and with a suitably heavy operating screw and powerful motor you could drive a pretty large payload. However, the essence of the "barn door" tracker is that of a simple and portable mount for cameras and small telescopes.
