I'm having a bash at making an Eye piece box for my daughter.

The insert(s) are/will be movable.

I have a little box/tray to make for her barlow and 5 filters, but so far so good

I have taken on-board what Mike (L8-nite) has commented about the carry handle being on the lid

as this could increase the chance of EP's flying across the field/garden but since I have already made the box, I'll finish

All the woodworkers amongst you, please don't look at my dovetailing to closely

Great effort and certainly is more than capable for its designed purpose. The dovetails are nice and 'relaxed' but actually make the box look a little older which is a nice feature. Now you have done this you do realise that she is likely to want you to build her an observing chair!

Plenty of suggestions for that project in the DIY section.
