Telescope Storage Cases

Anybody got any suggestions for firms that sell cases/trunks etc that would be suitable for storing/transporting a refractor?

You could always try scopeguard.com. They're the only bunch I know of but there must be loads out there. Although they are in the US I don't think there's been a better time now with the exchange rate as it is. That reminds me, any dealers here dropped their prices of US goodies lately??

The cost of buying the manufacturers case is astronomic

If your a handy person you could try and make one out of plywood with a foam insert or alloy (pop-rivets) just an idea!!!

I use tool boxes for my Megrez 90 and my PST - but they probably don't go big enough for the 130... :?

I am rapidly coming to this conclusion myself.

Its not as big as you think , the length with the dew shield out is about 86cm ( 34") with the shield closed its about 5" less.

Might have a look at tool chests.

Update.

I have managed to find a firm that will cut foam to size.

I think I will make my own case from plywood.
