Cross-matching catalogues?

Can someone who knows about such things tell me if there is any means of matching stars in, for example, Struve's ist to stars from the SAO or Tycho catalogues as typically found in computer software?

I have a couple catalogs that list stars down to 6th mag and 9th mag respectively that cross reference SAO, HD and HR catalogs, plus common Flamsteed and Bayer designations. Some are identified as Struve, but they're separated by HD number, I think. (I don't have them with me at the moment.) I think they're from Wil Tirion in conjunction with the Star Atlas 2000 charts. I'll check later and let you know. You might try SIMBAD online.

You can download Cartes du Ciel and install the WDS & Tycho catalogues.

If you click on the star this will show any relevant numbers.

Astroman: Thank you, that SIMBAD is one useful site!

Ian: I've had CDC with those installed but it all became a bit cluttered and 'stodgy'. I'm currently using the nimble StarCalc with the Tycho 2 catalogue installed but I want to find doubles from lists and old books that I have (mind you I've got a list as long as my arm of doubles with simple Bayer designations to work through first!).
