mod my 9 x 50 finderscope

silly question,

can any one tell me can i mod the std 9 x 50 finderscope that comes with the dob, as my back gives grief.

now i want to make it into a right angle finderscope. can i add a right angle thing to it or not. who has them for sale or do i have to buy a new finderscope.

I think you probably could mod it, but you would need to shorten the tube, find the right diagonal, possibly move the bracket etc. I decided it was much easier to buy a replacement RACI finder, definitely a good addition to the Dob.

Id agree, it will be too much hassle. Buy a RACI but keep the straight through one in case you want to sell the scope and you can keep hold of the RACI for your next purchase
