Autoguiding a Nexstar 6SE?

Hi Folks, i'm messing around with my 6SE trying to get guiding to work. I have ASCOM all setup and working well, and I can control my 'scope from my laptop. However when I try a guiding program like PHD Guide or GuideDog I get an error message saying my scope doesn't support the PulseGuide method?!

As the 6SE has an "Autoguide Port" I assumed that it was capable of this feat! I appreciate that the 6SE isn't really an imaging rig, but it's what I have to hand right now!

Anyone come across this before or have any tips to get autouiding working?
