Welcome to SGL stmpy! I wouldn't be too concerned with getting new EP's if I were you. Just get used to the scope and the night sky and maybe EP's will come later!

Your view of Jupiter was probably not very clear because of Seeing and transparency both there are a variety of other reasons. What are the specs of your scope?

Hi Stmpy, welcome to SGL

I'd consider getting a good Plossl such as one from GSO(Revelation) or Vixen. A 25mm will give you 36x for wider field, and a 2.5x GSO (Revelation) barlow will boost it to 90x

If this eyepiece and barlow combo gives you a improvement then you can consider getting other eyepieces. Otherwise, there is very little that can be done because it means the scope optics is poor.

We normally advice people to avoid Jessops's imitation scope at all cost because they have very poor optics and uses very poor quality mount. Department store scope are designed to to be cheap, so high street shops can cheat unsuspecting beginners out of their money. They are built to the minimum spec of what they can get away with. Many beginners fall victim to these imitations and leave astronomy due to the disappointing view.

A real telescope on the other hand is designed for astronomical observation, even the most basic scope will show Jupiter's cloud bands. Beginner scope will cut corners, but they are still built to give acceptable views

If you decide to replace your Jessops, a Skywatcher 130p dob is a good starter scope
