Not a question (for a change)

Hi to all who have helped a real novice. For once I'm not asking a question, just to say I've had my first view of the moon through my new scope. I know to most of you its old hat but wow! The craters look amazing, with the lighting spectacular. I had already seen Jupiter and 4 of its moons but it looks small and I didn't pick up much in the way of detail but tonight has been brilliant!

The moon is such an under estimated viewing object but it really can be stunning, no wonder it was Sir Patrick Moore's favourite - Enjoy!

Yeah , I had a look last night at the terminator (think that's right) and was amazed by the amount of extra craters there compared to the 'front' of the moon that is normally visible

Glad you are enjoying your scope. Old hat or not, the Moon is a very rewarding object to view, I can look at it for hours. Continued clear skies.

I love the moon. I've been trying to get a look at Rupes Recta (the straight wall) for ages but, for the past few months, every time the moon has been in the correct part of it's cycle to view it, it's been cloudy. Something to keep in mind for the weekend, though, if the clouds [removed word] off
