8th Jan - Jupiter through the Clouds

I setup my scope last night tracking the Comet C/2012 K5 hoping for the high level clouds to clear so I could get a view..

While waiting I decided to image Jupiter as an experiment. Couldn't see anything but a glow through the EP, yet managed to produce some detail from stacking. Surprising what you can eek out from lots of frames!

Neat! Well worth the experiment. My first attempt with a webcam was with Jupiter just a few degrees above the (boiling hot) roof of a garage. Dreadful seeing, but still nabbed some detail.
